CASE STUDY #1 - PRO HEALTH (Agency: o2kl)
NOTES FROM DIRECTOR JOSH: During pre production I work closely with both my camera and editorial team to ensure that we are considering all aspects of coverage. For this Pro Health commercial, I directed my storyboard artist to illustrate a storyline conveying creative and technical dynamics. Re: talent blocking, camera angles, lighting direction and framing for negative space for our projected images. We presented this approach to our client and then proceeded into our production days with purpose and precision.

CASE STUDY #2 - NY LIFE (Agency: Anomaly)
NOTES FROM DIRECTOR JOSH: For this campaign, I was tasked with photographing and directing a series of cinemagraphs. Given the technical nature of the cinemagraph medium, it was essential to plan and anticipate as many of the dynamics as possible prior to the shoot. Working with both a storyboard artist and visual effects designer, I created these gif storyboards to illustrate and map out which components of the frame would be moving and which would remain still. This detailed board approach served as an essential guiding light for all production departments - from location, wardrobe, and prop design.
CASE STUDY #3A - TERRA CHIPS (Agency: Burns Group)
NOTES FROM DIRECTOR JOSH: These clip art based storyboards were essentially tools for both our camera and production design team in planning out our specific camera moves and frames. For a faced paced edit like this, pre determining the exact composition and action was essential to achieving success.

CASE STUDY #3B - TERRA CHIPS (Agency: Burns Group)
NOTES FROM DIRECTOR JOSH: For this airplane setup, my team and I relied on these storyboards to determine both the pacing of the camera movement, our lighting cues and the actors performance. Having this level of detail planned out, allowed for speed and efficiency on set and thus, allowing for creative focus and time on our actors performance, in coordination with our dynamic lighting cue.
